I ran across this in my morning internet search for something worth reading. It’s a letter but it reads like a poem. I like the attention to the details of an ordinary (or maybe not so) day. And, of course, I like the New Orleans connection. I didn’t like Bukowski when I first read his stuff years ago but now I find I’m liking it more and more.

I’m still working on liking Bukowski. I once had a university instructor who said my story-writing was like Bukowsk – without all the swearing.
