Broken Blue: A Cento
Sometimes the great bones of my life feel so heavy,
reflected in star drops, quilted by the sigh.
Brisk and wild the wind blows,
cries of wolves heard upon the hills.
Somewhere between the light and the dark
a slash of Blue—
a sweep of Gray—
Step here, & one steps off
the edge of the world. Step there,
& one enters the unholy hour
where each round door-hole
is a way in
& a way out of oblivion.
