Zouxzoux is my muse, my best friend, my critic, my supporter, my alter ego. If not for her, my scribbles would still be secret.

I’m a big proponent of online journals and independent publishing because I think keeping up with technology and culture is important and because online publishing and independent press offers a fairer playing field with much more diversity than was ever possible before.

I am a writer, observer, listener and amateur photographer.
This website is my playground. It’s where I post my prose, poetry, and photography. Sometimes I post about my day to day life and other ruminations. A list of my publications in some fine lit journals can be found here.

All the poetry, prose, and photography on this site are my original work unless otherwise stated. All rights reserved.

  1. Hello,

I’m a student at Tulane University in New Orleans. I’ll be graduating in May with a degree in Media Arts and English (specializing in Internet Public Relations and Creative Writing). Currently I’m learning the ins and outs of Literary Event Management…it’s an internship centered around the Tennessee Williams Festival and promoting campus lecture/reading series within the literary community in New Orleans and beyond.

I thought a great way to go about getting the word out would be to contact bloggers who already have an interest in all things literary, even if they don’t live in New Orleans…some of your readers might!

The purpose of my query is to see if you’d be interested in having me contact you whenever we have a guest speaker coming to campus (Louis Gluck, Salman Rushdie, Timothy Liu, etc)….and then you would post this information on your blog/website. (Example: Poetry Reading: Timothy Liu; Freeman Auditorium @ 7:00pm, follow by reception; FREE to public).

If any of our guest writers are of a personal interest to you, then we can arrange to have them be your guest blogger or do an interview…or have you guest blog for us as an interviewer (note: we will have a blog set up by the end of this week)…the possibilities are endless. I also wanted to know if you allow people to advertise on your blog and if so, how much does it cost?

I look forward to your feedback!

    Warm Regards,
    Lyndsey R

  2. With all of your blogs and activities, you are an old hand at this and probably fed up with blogging awards, however…
I did nominate you for Very Inspiring Blog award – because you are a constant source of inspiration to me! Thank you and keep up the good work!

    1. Marina Sofia, Thank you! I am always thrilled and grateful when a reader thinks enough of me to give me a blogging award. I’m headed over to your place to read about it now. Thanks, darlin!

  3. Hey there Newbie Spikey!
(for your info, a Spikey is the term for folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.

I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…
